Dancing Coyote Camp — The Nature Awareness Experience for Children Ages 7-14

Info for Kids

Dancing Coyote Camp is a fun place to learn, play, and make friends! You will have a great time exploring the forest, seeing animals, and living outdoors.

Have you ever slept in an authentic tipi like the Native Americans? Have you ever seen real deer tracks? Have you ever gone for a swim in a mountain river? You'll get to do all these things and more at Dancing Coyote Camp!

Fun Activities for Kids

  • Make your backyard into a safe habitat for wildlife.
  • Find out how to be on a national registry by going to the National Wildlife Federation.
  • Create your own Nature Journal. A nature journal is fun! You may see something in your own yard that has been there all along, but never noticed. Add drawings, poetry. Learn how…
  • Read about a naturalist. Some interesting naturalists are Rachel Carlson, Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, John James Audubon, Farley Mowat, John Muir, Annie Dillard and Stephen Jay Gould.
  • Read about famous explorers like Eric Shipton and William Tilman.
